INTRODUCTION
Police officers get into their uniforms, strap on their guns and go off to work. They go into the most volatile of situations - human emotions - of grief, rage, hatred, fear, greed and sometimes psychosis. Sometimes they do not come home. They and their families live on a subtle edge. It's always there in the background, unspoken, but there. This page pays tribute to them and to the canine officers who live with their human partners' families and who too have not come home.
Similarly, Firefighters and EMS personnel sometimes don't come home from work. The bravery and heroism of all these professionals is worthy of our respect and our remembering.
Several police departments, national organizations and individuals have put up memorial and tribute pages which are below. At this site I hope to gather all such tribute pages. If you know of any not yet here please e-mail me their URLs. Thank you.
This site is dedicated to Cpl. Eric Spicer of the Dartmouth Police Department, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada (now part of the Halifax Regional Police Department) who was killed in the line of duty in 1975.

Courage to take me where others will not go...

Strength of body to protect others,
and strength of spirit to lead others...
I ask for dedication --
Dedication to my job, to do it well,
Dedication to my community, to keep it safe...
